Biography

Patrizia Livreri PhD, Professor of Electronics at the Engineering School of the University of Palermo, received her "Laurea degree" with honours in 1986. She passed the qualifying examination of the engineering profession in 1987. As an expert in designing microwave systems she got an experience at FACE RC (Pomezia - Rm) from 9/1/1986 to 1/31/1987. As a designer in microwave circuits she was enrolled at Elettronica S.p.a. (Rome) from 2/2/1987 to 08/31/1988. She received her Ph.D. in electronic engineering and she got a research position at CNR (National Institute for Research) from 11/1/1991 to 11/30/1992. Since 4/2/1995, she is Assistant Professor serving the Faculty of Engineering of University of Palermo. Since 1986 to 1998 her research was oriented to microwave electronics and circuits and also design of low noise amplifiers (LNA). Since 1999, her research was devoted to power electronics for microprocessor systems. Since 2005, she is the scientific director of the “Laboratory of nanotechnologies and nanomaterials for Cultural Heritage– BCNANOLAB” at the University of Palermo, aimed to the experimentaion of nanotechnologies and nanomaterials. She is actually teaching courses of Microwave Measurements and Instrumentation at the DEIM and of Electronics at DICGIM at the University of Palermo. She is also a member of the Doctoral degree Professors consultancy and served also as a tutor of several Ph.D. students. Under European FP6 program she served as evaluators. Creator, Project Leader of the High-Technology District for Cultural Heritage. She is author of more than 60 works published on specialised magazines, books chapters, national and international conferences documents. She is involved in several international research projects on nanotechnologies. She serves as coordinator of the second level Master’s degree in “Nanotechnologies and Nanomaterials for Cultural Heritage” and of the Research Project “Researcher on Nanotechnology and Nanomaterials”. She is also associated at the CNR . She was honored with many awards recognizing her research activities. She serves as consultant of the “Assessorato Regionale alle Attività Produttive della Sicilia” for the research project financied with european program funds.
